Rules

Everyone

These apply to every account, whether you are here to look, to commission or to create.

  1. Be respectful

No harassment, hate, threats or targeted pile-ons. Disagree with the work or the point, not the person.

  2. Protect privacy

Never share someone's personal details, private messages or images of them without their say. Doxxing is a permanent removal.

  3. One person, one account

Do not run alternate accounts to dodge a decision, to inflate votes or to bypass a restriction. Accounts that look linked are reviewed by the owner.

  4. No impersonation or scams

Do not pretend to be another person, an artist or staff, and do not take payment for work you do not intend to deliver.

  5. Keep your account safe

Never share your password or ask for anyone else's. Staff will never ask for it. Report suspicious links or messages.

  6. Nothing illegal or harmful

No malware, no content that sexualises minors, and nothing that breaks the law.

  7. Explicit sexual content is not allowed

We do not verify ages, so pornographic or sexually explicit work is not allowed anywhere on Constelle, including messages. Artistic nudity must carry a content warning.

  8. Violence and gore

Stylised or fantasy violence, horror and dark themes are welcome with a content warning. Real footage of injury or death, gore for shock and cruelty to animals are not allowed.

Regular members

A regular account is for browsing, following, messaging, sending inquiries and posting in General. You can see creators' work, but the creator categories are view only.

  1. Where you can post

Regular accounts can post in General. Work, showcases and commission listings in the other categories need the Verified member role. Apply from the Verification page if you would like to share your work.

  2. Respect the work

Do not save, re-upload, trace, edit or train anything on a creator's work. Viewing is the permission you have. Files are watermarked with your username.

  3. Messaging and inquiries

Be clear and polite. No spam, no mass messages, no repeated contact after someone says no. Do not push people to move payments or chats off the site to avoid the rules.

  4. Commissions are between you and the creator

Agree price, scope and deadline in writing before paying. Pay through the creator's own link. Constelle does not hold money or guarantee a deal, so only pay people you are comfortable with.

  5. Stage one review

New regular accounts start at stage one. If something about a sign-up looks off, it is held for the owner to review. Being reviewed is not an accusation, and you may be asked for context.

Verified creators

A verified account can publish. With that comes more responsibility for what you put on the site.

  1. Only post what is yours

Publish work you made or have clear permission to share. Credit collaborators, and never pass off someone else's work as your own.

  2. Label how it was made

Mark AI-generated or AI-assisted work as such using the post option. Do not present it as hand-made.

  3. The pre-post check

Before a post goes live, Constelle's own scanner reads the text, tags and file names for things that may break these rules, such as a missing content warning, hateful or extremist language, threats or personal details. It never sees or judges the image, audio or video itself, so warnings on those are on you. If it flags something you can edit, add a warning, or post anyway. Posting anyway holds the post, hidden from everyone but you and staff, until a moderator approves or rejects it. The scanner can be wrong, and only a person makes the final decision.

  4. Use the right category and status

Pick the correct category, mark work in progress or finished honestly, and keep tags relevant. No tag spam.

  5. Content warnings

If a post contains violence, horror, nudity or strong language, choose the content warning when you post. It is blurred for members until they choose to look. Leaving a warning off a post that needs one is a rule break, and repeat cases lose publishing.

  6. Commissions and sales

Prices, turnaround and what is included must be clear before a deal. Deliver what you agreed or refund it. Do not take payments you cannot fulfil. Disputes stay between you and the buyer; staff can look at conduct but cannot recover money.

  7. Contests and events

Enter with your own work, follow each event's own rules and accept the result. Vote manipulation or entering for someone else leads to removal from that event.

  8. Promotion

Share your own links on your profile. Do not spam other members' messages or posts with advertising.

Content warnings

A warning blurs a post until a member chooses to look. These describe what each one is for. When you are unsure, add the warning.

  1. Artistic nudity

Nudity in an artistic context, such as figure drawing, sculpture, anatomy studies or stylised characters with bare skin that is not sexual. It does not cover pornographic or sexually explicit work, which is not allowed at all. Everyday clothing, such as a sleeveless top, does not need a warning.

  2. Violence or gore

Blood, wounds, fighting, weapons used on people, or graphic injury, in fiction, games or art. Gore made to shock, and real footage of injury or death, are not allowed with or without a warning.

  3. Horror or disturbing

Imagery or writing meant to unsettle, such as monsters, body horror, ritual or occult themes, and distressing subjects like self-harm or suicide when they are depicted or discussed in the work.

  4. Strong language

Swearing or crude language that is a real part of the post. A single mild word does not need one, but repeated or heavy use does.

  5. Who decides

The scanner reads text, tags and file names only and can suggest a warning. It never judges images, audio or video, so the choice is yours when you post. Staff can add or change a warning, and leaving one off a post that needs it is a rule break.

How moderation works

Staff aim to be consistent, proportionate and open about what they can say. Private evidence is never posted publicly.

  1. What staff can do

Hide a post, restrict an account (it can still browse, but cannot post or message), suspend it, or remove it permanently. Staff always choose the lightest action that fixes the problem.

  2. Reports

Report posts or profiles that break these rules. Reports are read by staff and acted on only with evidence. False or revenge reports are treated as rule breaks.

  3. Serious cases

Doxxing, threats, targeted abuse and vulgar harassment, anything sexual involving minors, scamming, serious impersonation and attempts to compromise the community mean permanent removal, with no warning first. Staff may announce this as a Notice of Execution: a ceremonial announcement of a confirmed ban. It never names evidence and nobody should pile on.

  4. Staff conduct

Staff do not use their role to settle personal disagreements, and decisions are documented. If you think a decision was wrong, you can appeal to the owner.

  5. Appeals

Message the owner with what happened and why you think the decision should change. Appeals are looked at once, fairly, and the answer is final.
